Our purpose
To move science beyond the textbook by giving every learner direct, hands-on access to real scientific tools and methods.
GURUKUL GRAMMAR SCHOOL
A new world of discovery

SCHOOL PROJECT PRESENTATION
The establishment of a sophisticated, safe and future-ready lab where curiosity becomes experiment, and every student gets to think, build and discover like a real scientist.
01INTRODUCTION
Science is best learned by doing. The new laboratory at Gurukul Grammar School, Pub-Gitanagar, Guwahati, is built to give students the space, equipment and confidence to explore the world through observation and experiment.
To move science beyond the textbook by giving every learner direct, hands-on access to real scientific tools and methods.
A centre of inquiry where questions are encouraged, experiments are designed by students, and innovation feels natural.
Designed for students of every class, with guided activities for beginners and open project spaces for advanced learners.

02OUR SCHOOL
Gurukul Grammar School in Pub-Gitanagar, Guwahati has grown into a learning community that values discipline, curiosity and character. The new Science Laboratory is the next chapter in that story — a space where classroom theory turns into real experiments.
“To nurture curious, confident and ethical young minds who question the world, test their ideas and use science and technology to build a better future for Assam and beyond.
OUR VISION

The new Science Laboratory is being developed under the leadership of our Principal, Dr. B.K. Bhuyan, with the aim of bringing real experiments and safe, guided exploration to every student.
03LAB ZONES
The laboratory is divided into dedicated zones, each equipped for a different branch of science, while sharing one open, collaborative layout.
ZONE A01 / 03THE LAWS THAT GOVERN THE UNIVERSE
Optics benches, digital oscilloscopes, electricity and magnetism kits, and motion sensors let students measure what a textbook can only describe.
Explore equipment
ZONE B02 / 03REACTIONS WITNESSED, NOT MEMORISED
Fume hoods, precision balances, pH meters and a well-organised chemical store support safe, accurate reactions and analysis.
Explore equipment
ZONE C03 / 03LIVING SYSTEMS IN SHARP FOCUS
Digital microscopes connected to screens, specimen collections and models bring cells, tissues and whole organisms into view.
Explore equipment
04EQUIPMENT MANIFEST
Every zone is planned with modern, safe equipment so students can measure, observe and build — not just read about it.
Measurement, optics and motion
05HOLOGRAPHIC DECK
Some things can never be held in the hand — an electron shell, a hydrogen bond, an ion lattice. In the deck they can be turned, inspected and understood.
SELECTED STRUCTURE
Carbon-12
A compact nucleus of six protons and six neutrons, surrounded by electrons in quantised shells. Explore the building blocks of matter from every angle.
Rendered live in the browser. Rotate the model to inspect its structure from every angle.
06VIRTUAL LABORATORY
Try a reaction, build a circuit or time a pendulum — as many times as you like, with nothing to clean up.
Choose two reagents to explore balanced equations, visible observations and the science behind the result.
Choose two reagents and press Run experiment. The bench reports what you would actually see, the balanced equation and the reason behind it.
01 Every result is calculated live in the browser. These simulations are for learning and do not replace supervised laboratory practice.
07MISSION TIMELINE
Track how the laboratory moves from a proposal to a fully working space.
Lab concept presented and approved under the guidance of the Principal.
Zones, safety routes, furniture and power points mapped out.
Instruments for physics, chemistry and biology sourced.
Fume hood, fire extinguishers, first aid and eyewash stations installed.
Official opening of the laboratory for students and parents.
Regular practical classes, science clubs and inquiry projects.
08STUDENT BENEFITS
More than equipment, the laboratory is an investment in how our students think, work and dream.
Concepts stick when students see them happen. Experiments turn theory into lasting understanding.
Forming hypotheses, testing them and analysing results builds evidence-based reasoning.
Group experiments teach students to communicate, share roles and solve problems together.
Open-ended investigations invite students to ask new questions and design their own experiments.
Practical skills support board practicals, olympiads and future careers in science.
A space that sparks wonder encourages students to keep asking questions long after class ends.
09SAFETY MEASURES
A sophisticated lab is a safe lab. Every zone is designed with protection, prevention and quick emergency response in mind.
Fire extinguishers, fire blankets and smoke detectors placed at every zone, with clearly marked exits.
Fume hoods and exhaust fans remove harmful vapours and keep the air clean and fresh.
Lab coats, safety goggles and gloves are provided and worn when required.
Emergency eyewash stations and a safety shower for immediate response to chemical splashes.
Fully stocked first-aid kits and staff trained in basic first-aid procedures.
Labelled, locked cabinets that separate chemicals according to safety guidance.
